Mimi's Favorite Save the Date's

{image: Elizabeth Anne Designs}

In celebration of Thursday (30 Rock & The Office Night) I am sharing my favorite Save the Date idea. If any of you know me personally, you'll probably understand why this particular choice I found at Elizabeth Anne Designs is appealing to me because my Dingo and I met while working at a bookstore. I just found this today, so it is a little late for what I am actually planning to send out but I think the idea is perfect. You could have the image printed on postcard stock or save money in stamps by just emailing the image to your guests.

Save the Date with a Postcard!

{image: See KC and Sara's wedding at Once Wed.com}

Postcards are such a simple, inexpensive way to let everyone know that you have set the date for your nuptials. KC and Sara got extra creative with one of theor engagement photographs and came up with this lovely Save the Date. Make sure you visit Once Wed to see what they did for their invitations too!

Photo Booth Save The Dates

{images: my aim is true}

I played with this great idea for a long, long time. I considered doing a photo booth magnet, notecard, bookmark, everything. This is by far my favorite example of a DIY version though. I originally found it on The Offbeat Bride, and followed their link to a cute blog by the bride called my aim is true. I think even the presentation of these Save The Dates are fantastic. This is definitely something fun you would want to get in the mail. Kudos Amber!

Elegant Save The Date Option

Well, we are finally getting down to business with chosing our Save the Date cards. There are so many options that I thought this would be a great way to make sure I post with something new every day. Because our wedding will be quite formal, we thought this would be a good opportunity to do something on our own to express our personality. Our DIY project is well under way and I have to say, I am quite impressed with our creative efforts so far. But, I am ahead of myself. This was the first Save the Date we really liked, from wonderful, excellent, Wedding Paper Divas. I love calendars, so this one, with the bride and groom's wedding date circled, is incredible. It helps that their sample is our exact wedding date too huh?

BSG Season Premeire Tonight!

Whipped Bake Shop in Philadelphia is just amazing! I wish I could have ordered this for the BSG premiere party I am attending this evening. I love it when a bakery can combine the classic look of a traditional wedding cake with a bride or groom's personal interests. Very original.

Mmmmm... good.

Our caterer, Hoaglin Fine Catering was recently featured on Jennifer Driscoll's photography blog. I was thrilled to see one of the shots had some of the miniature cheeseburgers and fries we plan of serving as a midnight snack. Believe me, everything tastes as good as it looks too!

New Year's Resolutions

[Image: Bill Waterson's Calvin and Hobbes]

I think the resolutions we make to the world around us are resolutions we really tend to keep. Get Healthy? Check. More personal time? Check.

Of course we want to do these things, but when we find ourselves drawn to a resolution that can in fact make a real difference in the world, we are more inclined to finish the year off with an actual RED check mark on our New Year's Resolution Lists.

This time, next year, I 'll be pulling out that red Sharpie. Have no doubts about that.

Mimi's 2009 Resolutions

1. Take charge of the "Ripple Effect" by volunteering for
2. Faithfully use me Wii for a healthier Mii.
(i.e. now sighs from the Wii Fit board when I step onto it)
3. Become a semi-professional blogger (M-F postings!)
4. Keep Knocking on Doors!
That's it. No. Wait........
5. Fill up my I-Pod with great stuff

"Maybe the dingo ate your baby."

Blank

Yes, I have a little Elaine in me. I think we all do. However, until very recently, her antics had ruined the word "fiance" for me. It took some time to get used to introducing my better half as my fiance. It sounded so braggy. But the more I did it, the more proud I became to be honored by his choice in marrying me. I do still hear dingo when I say "fiance", but I do love my dingo.

Junebug's find: Good Stock Book and Bindery

What Junebug Loves never disappoints, but today I think they posted my favorite find of the last few months since becoming a faithful follower. Follow their lead and check out Good Stock Press and Bindery. Now you can make that book of photos you have always been fantasizing about. (Or is that just me?)

Of course most brides get their albums for the wedding through their photographer, but here you can personalize you book down to ever little detail and give them to parents, grandparents, or others who would love to have a memory book of your day. And while this is grrreat for brides, these books can be personalized for any occassion: new baby, your pets, your family tree.... The possibilities are limitless as your imagination.
